Drip Tea is a cafe in Seattle, WA that serves boba drinks and desserts while offering the streetwear culture experience in their stores. They often collaborate with local brands on unique product offerings.

 BUSINESS GOALS

A website to sell their branded merchandise such as custom designed clothes and pins instead of the store to increase sales and online presence. More in-depth information on their products and drink offerings.

 UNDERSTANDING THE USERS

Conducted usability testing and surveys on the current website to find what the pain points are as well what they like about it. I gave them a task of browsing the site and find something they might be interesting in ordering. I asked them what they think can be improved on the site.

Problem:
Users want clear images and descriptions of what the products are as the in-store and website lacks that information. Doesn’t know what type of business it is and what they offer due to lack of store information. What is their identity?

How we might solve that is to redesign a website that have all the product information and increase their branding presence  so consumers can confidently purchase those products.

PROTOTYPE

As a MVP, the site was kept fairly simple with no merchandise or online store for now while the business owners are still working on that process.

 TAKEAWAYS

  • Integrating social media helps increase brand awareness and trust to their products and reach out to more potential customers.

  • Keeping it simple, especially when are a lot of content or products on a page, less clutter will make things easier to browse and find.

  • Always include product images, many times unique food and drinks from a different culture are unknown to many consumers. It’s always best to include at least images if aren’t any opportunities for descriptions.
